PRICE DIFFERENCES IN OLIVE OIL

A consumers association survey in Spain has recently detected differences of up 64% (1,70 Euros per liter) in the olive oil price, comparing 54 trademarks, in six of the most  important supermarkets.

 

The research compares prices of 165 products in different olive oil qualities, in 1 and 5 liters containers.

For example, the extra virgin olive oil average price is 3,75 Euros, in 1 liter plastic container. This prices goes from 2.99 to 4,58 Euros.

The study also shows that the same trademark varies between 0-29%, depending on the store where you buy it, and that prices have risen in the last two years (17,6 % for the extra virgin olive oil in 1 liter plastic container).
